The 'National Extended Certificate in Performing Arts' is 2 Year course containing 360 'Guided Learning Hours' (GLH) which is the equivalent to 1 A-Level. It is for students interested in learning about the performing arts sector alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in Performing Arts. It is designed to be taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels.
Performing arts will improve your knowledge of arts administration and marketing,
different genres and practitioners. The emphasis is always on exploring the students’
imagination and creativity. If you have a practical interest and some ability in
theatre, music and dance, enjoyed studying drama at GCSE level and you want an active,
practical course which will stretch you, then this is definitely for you.
We aim to respond to your question within two working days (term time only).
