This course allows the students to learn and practice as if they were professional film and television producers. By delivering a range of projects throughout the 2 year course you can have hands on experience of how the media industry functions at both a theoretical and practical level. The course is mapped carefully through a range of units including ‘Digital Media Skills’, ‘Media Enterprise’, ‘Responding to a Commission’ and ‘Film Production’. Each unit allows the student to learn skills specific to the industry and then gives them the opportunity to try their hand at the tasks.
The department has many contacts within the industry and can, where necessary, offer educational visits to media industries such as the BBFC, the BFI and the BBC. Students also have the opportunity to talk and interview media professionals and there is an additional chance to attend the Bi-Annual Overseas visit to Hollywood and San Francisco to learn about the birthplace of Mainstream Cinema!
The subject is interesting, fun and very hands-on and full of great opportunities.
We aim to respond to your question within two working days (term time only).
