BiologyA Level

Studying Biology will teach you to ask questions, make observations, evaluate evidence, and solve problems. Biologists learn how living things work, how they interact with one another, and how they evolve. You will be encouraged to develop an enthusiasm for biology and develop practical skills alongside an understanding of concepts and principles which will give you a broad and solid basis for applying your knowledge to the questions posed.

Biology is relevant today because it is so often featured in the news. Many of the new developments are controversial and an understanding of the Science behind them will help you come to reasoned decisions about social and medical dilemmas. This subject will set you on the right path for so many exciting careers from forensics to botany, zoology to anthropology so come and learn about yourself and the World around you.

  • Teaching Biology is always interesting as it's always in the news...watching students have the 'penny dropping' moment makes me smile every time.
  • Biology is fun and it challenges my preconceptions of the natural world.
  • Biology is what makes my heart beat, literally.
