BTEC in BusinessBtec

These qualifications look at business in a consumer society and focus on how business organisations operate. The key concepts and principles related to success in the world of business and the skills needed to work in business. BTEC can give you the skills to lead you straight into higher education or into employment. They are assignment based for core units 1 and 8, 5 and 27 they then have Controlled assessment units and an external exam unit in finance.

The 120-credit BTEC Level 3 Diploma, there is potential for the qualification to prepare learners for employment in the appropriate vocational sector or going onto university and is equivalent to two GCE A Levels.

Course Content

Unit 1: Exploring Business - this is a coursework unit

Unit 2: Developing a marketing campaign - this now controlled assessment

Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance - this is the finance unit

Unit 4: Managing an event - this is a coursework unit

Unit 5: International Business - this is a coursework unit

Unit 6: Principles of marketing - this is a controlled assessment unit


These are the main core mandatory units for the course

Then the students take two optional units which are coursework units
